CalViva Health

In 2016, CalViva Health - a Medi-Cal plan that operates in Fresno, Madera and Kings Counties - hired JSA to execute and manage their 2016-17 outreach campaign to reach lower-income and diverse populations. CalViva Health aimed to increase their brand awareness, particularly with younger audiences In addition, we targeted low-income individuals and families. We used a mix of various mediums that included television, radio, outdoor, streaming music platforms, cinema advertising, transit, digital and print.

In the past, CalViva Health had minimal outreach that consisted mainly of radio and transit. Advertising messaging was inconsistent and design had an outdated feel. JSA worked with the CalViva Health team to create streamlined messaging focused on conveying that CalViva was a local choice, but still provided a robust network of doctors and specialists—at no-cost to the individual.

JSA has continued to manage the CalViva Health efforts, launching new campaigns annually. Each year we approach the media tactics and creative with fresh eyes, improving on what was done the year before.

CalViva Health Community Projects:

As part of our ongoing work with CalViva Health, we’ve branded/launched aligned community projects such as:

See 2 Succeed. A non-profit partnership that works with schools in the Central Valley to offer free eye exams and glasses for children in underserved communities. JSA developed the brand guide, iconography, photography, logo, posters and website.

Market For Good. JSA created the name, logo and e-commerce site for Market for Good. This project is a partnership between The Children’s Movement and CalViva Health that created an online market where product sales benefit selected nonprofits. The e-commerce site was complicated and on a strict timeline. JSA completed the project on time, and created a user manual and one-on-one training (via Zoom) for The Children’s Movement staff so they can manage the site in the future.
